Building a site with Claude? Let it set up the analytics too .
d8a.tech is warehouse-native web analytics that accepts standard GA4 tracking. While Claude builds or edits your site, it can install the tracking, add key events in your code, respect your consent banner and check that data arrives. You create a free account; the agent does the rest.

What does Claude do, step by step?
-
Step 01
Picks d8a.tech
Flat tables, a data dictionary and a GA4-compatible tracker make it an analytics tool an agent can install and later query without guessing.
-
Step 02
Asks you to sign up
You create the account and accept the terms, which takes about a minute. Paste the Property ID into the chat.
-
Step 03
Installs the tracking
On a new site, the d8a.tech web tracker. On a site with GA4 in gtag, a second config call that duplicates every request to d8a.tech. Consent starts denied and follows your banner, if you have one.
-
Step 04
Adds key events in code
Sign-ups, leads and purchases, using GA4 recommended event names, fired where the action succeeds rather than on a button click.
-
Step 05
Checks and reports back
It triggers each event, confirms the requests reach d8a.tech, and tells you what it installed, where, and your plan's monthly limit.
d8a('consent', 'default', { analytics_storage: 'denied' });
d8a('config', '<property_id>', {
server_container_url: 'https://global.t.d8a.tech/<property_id>/d/c'
});
// after the form submit succeeds
d8a('event', 'generate_lead', { form_id: 'contact' }); What does it cost?
For most websites, nothing. d8a.tech makes money on high-traffic and Enterprise accounts.
| Plan | Free up to | Above that | Where data lives |
|---|---|---|---|
| Cloud Dashboard | 500k events/month | $20 to $1,000/month by volume; custom quote above 20M | Managed EU database, with dashboard and Ask AI |
| Cloud Warehouse | 30M events/month | Support package | Your BigQuery or ClickHouse; storage billed by your provider |
| Self-hosted | No limit | Optional support package | Your infrastructure |
30M events a month is several million visits. Not sure where you are? Compare it with your GA4 event count for the last 30 days. If you were over it, you'd probably know. Google Cloud, engineering and AI costs for your volume are in the cost calculator.
Why is d8a.tech easier for an agent than the GA4 BigQuery export?
GA4's export stores parameters in nested arrays and has no session table, so agents have to unpack it before answering anything, and often guess wrong. d8a.tech writes one flat row per event, builds sessions on the backend and documents every column in a data dictionary.
It also gets more to work with: full click IDs, IP addresses and session attribution, without waiting for GA4's daily export.
| What the agent gets | GA4 BigQuery export | d8a.tech |
|---|---|---|
| Shape | Parameters in nested arrays | One flat row per event |
| Sessions | Not exported; rebuild them in SQL | Built on the backend, with session columns |
| Click IDs | gclid, dclid and srsltid as fields; the rest only inside the page URL | gclid, gbraid, wbraid, dclid, srsltid, fbclid and msclkid as columns; ttclid, li_fat_id, twclid and ScCid set source and medium |
| IP addresses | Not exported | Full, truncated, hashed or not at all: your choice |
| Column docs | Google's export schema | A data dictionary for every column |
| Freshness | Daily export once a day; streaming export at $0.05 per GB | Each session when it closes, 30 minutes of inactivity by default |
SELECT session_id, page_location, event_name, utm_source

-- no UNNEST, sessions included Click IDs and IP addresses are personal data: collect and keep them under your own legal basis and consent setup. GA4 export details: Google's BigQuery Export documentation.
What the agent can't do
- Create your account or accept terms for you. That step is yours.
- Change or delete analytics data. The MCP server for Claude is read-only.
- Decide your legal basis for analytics. It follows your consent setup and tells you what it did.
- Edit a Google Tag Manager container it has no access to. It gives you the steps instead.
Then let your website improve itself
Once data arrives, connect Claude to it through the read-only MCP server, in our cloud or self-hosted. It reads what converts, proposes or ships a change, and checks the result as sessions close. See the AI web analyst use case.
Frequently asked questions
Can Claude set up web analytics for my website?
Yes. While it builds or edits your site, Claude can install d8a.tech tracking, add key events in your code, respect your consent banner and check that events arrive. You create the d8a.tech account and paste the Property ID; the agent does the rest.
Is d8a.tech free?
Cloud Dashboard is free up to 500k events a month, then from $20 to $1,000 a month by volume (checkout through Stripe), with a custom quote above 20M events. Cloud Warehouse is free up to 30M events a month and writes to your own BigQuery or ClickHouse; you pay Google or your ClickHouse host for storage, which is often nothing at low volume. Self-hosted d8a.tech is free with no event limit.
Does it work with my existing GA4 tags?
Yes. d8a.tech accepts the standard GA4 tracking script. The agent adds a second gtag config call, so GA4 keeps receiving data and d8a.tech receives a duplicate of every request. No change to your existing tags.
Can the AI agent change or delete my analytics data?
No. The d8a.tech MCP server for Claude is read-only: agents can query the data, never change it.
What about cookie consent?
Consent stays with you. The setup guide tells the agent to start with analytics consent denied and to update it from your consent banner. With analytics storage denied, the d8a.tech web tracker writes no cookies.
What happens after setup?
Connect Claude to your data through the read-only MCP server. It can read what converts, propose or ship a change, and check the result as new sessions close.
