An engaged session is GA4’s definition of a visit that counts. It lasted longer than 10 seconds, had a key event, or had at least two page or screen views. GA4’s engagement rate is the share of sessions that are engaged.
Why It Matters
It replaced bounce rate as GA4’s main quality signal, and it’s defined differently from the bounce rate many teams still report. Check the definition before comparing numbers across tools or years.
