Sessionization is the process of grouping events into sessions. It can happen in the browser, inside a reporting tool, in your own SQL, Dataform or dbt models, or on the backend of the pipeline.
Why It Matters
GA4 sessionizes inside its interface but its BigQuery export has no session table, so teams rebuild sessions in SQL. That logic is easy to get subtly wrong and expensive to maintain.
